Ooooooo, I can’t wait to lose weight so I can…….

I ran across the following quote from Geneen Roth:

“The Process is The Goal”

I nearly jumped up and down to see such a beautiful truth being depicted here.

See most of you are waiting to reach your goal of weight loss. You are future projecting all these incredible feelings and experiences for once your goal is achieved.

“Ooooo I can’t wait to to lose weight so I can ___________” or

“Once I lose this weight I will finally feel ________________”.

As you have heard me say many of times over this is false, false, false. When weight comes off you will have exactly the same feelings you have now. You will temporarily feel excited, relief, etc. But give it a little time and all those old feelings creep right back in….

…Not enough-ness

…Disapproved of

…Lack of self confidence

You name it and it comes right back.

So what do you do instead?

You use the process of losing weight as your opportunity to claim the feelings and experiences you truly desire. You don’t wait one day to experience them.

And for the ones that you really feel you absolutely cannot do until the weight comes off (Like fit into another wardrobe or go zip lining) ask yourself how important are those?

I mean sure it will be fun, but is it really going to define your life in the way that you are saying it will? Will those things really make you feel as though your life is complete? Are you empty without them?

You will find that as fun as they sound they are just a few things that will mean very little in the scheme of your life. So let them go for now. And focus on all the incredible experiences and feelings you can have right now! I promise you… there are plenty.

Enjoy the process loves, it will make all the difference in the world. And ask for the support when you need it. Our virtual classroom is under $50 and gives you the tools you need to live your incredible life now.
